Camp Wakpominee

With one of the greatest locations available in the country, Camp Wakpominee is the place to be for summer camp. Located on over 1,000 acres in the Adirondack Park of Upstate NY, Camp Wakpominee has overlook views of Lake George and boasts its own lake for boating and swimming.
Camp Wakpominee's week long resident camp offers an excellent traditional Boy Scout program with a wide range of rank advancement and merit badge opportunities. The camp also serves as a high adventure base for canoe and backpacking Treks for those older Scouts that want to explore the Adirondacks.

Fall, Winter, and Spring Fun!

Camp Wakpominee's facilities aren't just Summer Resident Camping!  The resident camp grounds also make a great destination for troops or groups looking for a weekend camping experience in the Adirondack Park.  The camp is the perfect place for in camp activities and can also be used as a base camp while exploring the local area.  The camp has facilities for:

  • In-season fishing
  • Ice Fishing
  • Ice Skating
  • Camping
  • Hiking
  • Cross Country Skiing
  • Snowshoeing

Please note that you will need to provide your own equipment for activities like Ice Fishing, Skating, Skiing, and Snowshoeing.

Year round visitors can stay in one of several winterized buildings that can house troops and groups of all sizes.  There are also Lean-to's and Tent Campsites that are perfect for year round camping.  The Adirondack area is known for beautiful foliage in autumn and a large amount of snow by mid winter.  The heavy snowfall also makes the camp a perfect place for winter training and igloo building.

If you are a camp master this fall and winter get a free weekend of camping for the troop or pack in the spring. (Campsites only in spring, no cabins) Contact Daniel Krueger at for details.
